Dynamic School Assemblies proudly presents an array of programs specifically designed to coordinate with the Michigan Libraries' summer 2021 theme: TAILS & TALES! Appropriate and suitable for libraries, early learning centers, day-care facilities and summer camps, these great presentations appeal to all ages and audiences!
ANIMAL TALES / LIVE ANIMALS
Talking animals are a common theme in mythology, folktales, and children's literature. Fictional talking animals often are anthropomorphic, possessing human-like qualities. The usage of animals that speak enables storytellers to combine the basic characteristics of the animal with a human's behavior, to apply metaphor and to entertain children. This program will feature a variety of live mammals, reptiles, and birds to provide a fascinating and unforgettable show. Our live animals presentations typically draw the largest crowds of the summer for the library summer reading programs.
ROCK & ROLL ANIMALS
Children love songs about animals.
Whether singing about pets, farm animals, or ocean animals, you are sure to capture their attention.
There are so many songs about animals for kids because children can relate to animals easily. Animal songs offer a great early learning platform for toddlers and preschoolers as well as older school age children.
From traditional songs like "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" & "B-I-N-G-O" to Rock & Roll Classics like Elvis’ “Hound Dog” and Elton John's “Crocodile Rock”, children of all ages enjoy songs about animals.
This fun, interactive concert features songs about animals and is performed live by our talented, veteran musicians who specialize in entertainment for children.
ROCK AND ROLL STORYTELLERS / CONCERT
Older than the written word, storytelling has always played a central role in society. Tales provided entertainment and recorded historic events. One of the ways this was done was through verse or song. Throughout history, songs have been used to convey messages. Songs were silly, tragic, loving, and always entertaining. Yesterday's troubadours and folksingers have been replaced digitally by Spotify, Pandora, Soundcloud, and others. But, today, as always, song remains a powerful, unique, and moving way to get your message across. This fun and interactive live rock and roll show is loved by all ages.
A ZOO IN THE SKY / PLANETARIUM
Imagine a group including a goat, crab, ram, eagle, lion, bull, dolphin, snake, lizard, peacock, fox, and a flying fish. Is this a menagerie? No, they are constellations in the night sky! Ancient Egyptians, Mayans, Greeks, and Native Americans all gazed skyward and in their imaginations, found animals! Enjoy the night skies from the security and comfort of your library. Our portable, inflatable Mylar Starlab dome sets up easily at your location, bringing a star-filled planetarium to your site.
ANIMAL TAILS / PUPPET THEATER
For thousands of years, children everywhere have been captivated and entertained by puppets. Puppets help to bring stories to life for an enriching, yet fun, learning experience. Puppets are also valuable tools for promoting listening skills and vocabulary development. This delightful animal-themed puppet program features a dog, cat, bunny, skunk, peacock, mouse, monkey, panda, turtle, alligator, and others.
ANIMALS AND OUR ENVIRONMENT / LIVE ANIMALS
This presentation focuses on pollution and its impact on wildlife around the world. A large range of natural and man-made problems will be addressed, including, but not limited to: hibernation, weather, pollution, the pet trade, and habitat loss. We can build a better world by working together to minimize pollution and its impact on our world. Live mammals, reptiles, and amphibians from different countries and diverse ecosystems will be featured in this program.
COMIC ART ANIMALS / LIVE DRAWING DEMONSTRATION
In 1928, "Steamboat Willie" featuring Mickey Mouse was released and put Walt Disney Studios at the forefront of the animation industry. Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Garfield, Scooby-Doo, Snoopy, and others, have entertained children of all ages ever since. In both animation and comic book form, animals are often the stars. This unique library program is presented by Marvel Comic illustrator Jerry De Caire. As quickly as the eye can follow, art and fantasy are created in this fascinating live drawing performance. Marvel characters illustrated by Jerry include, but aren't limited to, Thor, X-Men, Wolverine, Conan, Punisher, Iron Man, Nick Fury, The Phantom, and more. Super fun!
